30.4 million US students can’t afford their school meals.
43% of school districts reported increasing numbers of students who can’t afford meals.
Midwest states have among the highest reported unpaid meal debt (88.1%)
Student meal debt in Missouri has reached almost $44 million
Student meal debt in Kansas reached about $23.5 million

When families can’t pay for meals served, schools are forced to use education funds to cover the losses, resulting in the loss of education resources for all students.

Our First Priority: Eliminating School Lunch Debt

Countess children face the uncertainty of not having a meal during their school day. This not only affects their health but also their ability to concentrate and succeed in their studies.
